A 43-year-old man was arrested by Carson City deputies in the 5100 block of S. Carson Street Thursday evening for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, a stop sign violation, not using a turn signal, and using a private drive to avoid traffic control devices.

According to the report, Jeffery Royce Atkins was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies after observing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign when turning into a grocery store parking lot from Koontz.

Deputies advised the driver also failed to use a turn signal when entering the lot.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies responded Thursday morning to the area of East Winnie and North Carson Street for a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.
