Carson City sheriff's office log: Arrests for embezzlement, drug sales and domestic battery

A 36-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday in the area of North Roop Street and East William on a felony warrant alleging embezzlement, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers stopped Amie Marie Folster after clocking her on radar going 39 mph in a clearly posted 25 mph zone. Dispatch confirmed the March 4 warrant out of Carson City Justice Court and she was arrested at 9:33 a.m. Bail: $20,000.

Lyon County Sheriff's Office: Five jailed in meth bust at Silver Springs 'flop house'

Five people were arrested Monday in Silver Springs following a four-month investigation by the Narcotics Division of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office into methamphetamine sales in the Silver Springs area, authorities said.

A search warrant was executed at 2905 Toiyabe Street in Silver Springs. The home was being used to sell methamphetamine, and acted as a “flop house” for local drug users and dealers, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Legislative aide jailed after interfering with deputy following DUI crash

Information sought on deer poaching near base of Ruby Mountains

Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens are seeking the public’s assistance with the poaching of a mule deer doe on Broken Arrow Lane in Pleasant Valley, just east of Spring Creek at the base of the Ruby Mountains.

The poaching occurred on Feb. 20, 2015 at approximately 4 p.m. Two males were observed loading a mule deer doe, that had been shot in a residential yard, into a bright or electric blue late model Dodge pickup truck.

Two cases involving stolen, forged credit cards results in three arrests

Three Sacramento area women were arrested Saturday in two separate cases involving stolen credit cards, fraud and forgery. Carson City Sheriff’s Office investigators are trying to determine if the cases are related, said Lt. Brian Humphrey.

In the first arrest, officers recovered stolen credit cards, equipment to make credit cards, as well as stolen checks from victims in Douglas County and Sacramento, according to the arrest report.

A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday on a felony charge of battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly breaking into a home and striking a man with a metal bat, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Jose Segovia was arrested at 1:52 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Saliman Road. He also faces charges of gross misdemeanor domestic battery, violation of a protective order, petit larceny and violation of alternative sentencing. He has been arrested four times in a year on domestic battery charges with one conviction.

Carson City sheriff’s weekend log: felony arrests made for vehicle theft, assault

A Carson City man was arrested Friday, 10:30 a.m. on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle after a brief vehicle pursuit with officers, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Adrian Garcia Montez, 21, of Carson City. Bail has been set at $25,000. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched to a call of an occupied stolen vehicle that was being followed by the victim.

A Fallon man has been arrested in the Saturday night Carson City apartment robbery in which the victim was grazed with a bullet after a gun discharged.

Three men were arrested Sunday at South Shore following a strong arm robbery that happened in Roseville, Calif., in which a victim had been beaten and robbed of $30,000 while responding to a Craigslist ad, South Lake Tahoe police said.

Lyon County investigators continue investigation into disappearance of Alea Clark

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Alea Clark who was reportedly last seen in the Dayton area on Jan. 6, 2015.

Pursuant to this investigation, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on Wednesday, Jan. 14 on a Dayton home in the 200 block of Grosh Avenue. Pair jailed on felony charges in vehicle burglary, used stolen credit cards to shop, eat pizza

Two were arrested and face multiple felony charges related to a vehicle burglary that happened Friday where stolen credit cards were used at a casino and to purchase around $900 worth merchandise, clothing and pizza, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested were Joshua Allen, 34, of Richmond, Calif., and April Grover, 29, of Bay Point, Calif. Each face felony charges of auto burglary, commercial burglary, credit card fraud, prescription drug and controlled substance possession and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. The two were already in jail facing other charges.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was jailed Thursday, 11:46 p.m. on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine. The arrest came after a reporting witness advised there was a suspicious vehicle in the area of Molly and Millennium streets with occupants inside doing drugs.

Officers located the vehicle and found a man, Jael Alexis Alvarez, walking away from it toward Long Street. The man was ordered to stop walking three separate times before he stopped, the arrest report states.

A 26-year-old Stateline man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and other charges after a traffic stop in the 4000 block of South Curry Street, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, during a consensual stop at a parked car in a movie theater parking lot at 1:57 a.m., an officer asked the man, Daniel Louis Allen, for identification.

A Mill Valley, Calif., man was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Sunday at East Musser at Carson Street on suspicion of DUI, speeding and driving with a suspended or revoked license, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The vehicle was stopped after being clocked going 50 mph in a 35 and 48 mph in a 25 mph zone, according to the arrest report. The driver was contacted where he identified himself with a California driver’s license that came back suspended.

A 23-year-old transient, Sean Paul McCracken, was arrested Tuesday, 4:05 p.m. at Selby and La Loma streets on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, an officer stopped the vehicle for an expired license tag and made contact with the driver. The officer smelled a light odor of marijuana and asked the man about it. The man told the officer he had a “roach” in the ashtray. The officer asked if that was all he had. The man said yes.

Carson City weekend arrests include DUIs, domestic battery and bench warrants

A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 2:21 a.m. in the area of North Plaza and East Caroline streets on misdemeanor charges of being an intoxicated pedestrian, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest with violence, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Carson Street for a vehicle accident in a parking lot. Dispatch alerted officers that the subjects involved in the accident were confrontational and getting violent with casino security.

A woman who spotted a man attempting to sell coins that were stolen from her home in an Oct. 28 burglary, chased him out of a store and into the streets shortly after the Nevada Day Parade ended on Saturday where Carson City sheriff’s officers then found and arrested him.

Drake Vancleave, 50, was arrested on suspicion of six felony counts including receiving stolen property, obtaining money under false pretenses and burglary, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. He is being held on $125,737 bail.

A 29-year-old Carson City man, DeWayne Rey, was arrested Friday, 10:34 p.m. in the area of Woodside and Stanton on a felony charge of violation of probation conditions. According to the arrest report, deputies with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team were in the area and observed a dark color sedan with nonfunctioning license plate lights.

Several arrested at Carson City home allegedly used for meth sales

Four adults and one juvenile were arrested this weekend on felony drug charges following an investigation through the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team that led to a home on Bryan Circle where methamphetamine and other narcotics were allegedly sold, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested were Ezekial O’Kelly, 21, Christian Kai Minter, 19, Megan Kassandra Cleveland, 36, and James Stogner.

A second person has been arrested in connection to at least two Honda Accord thefts, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Jonathan Baumgardner, 31, was arrested Sunday in the 3000 block of Melanie Lane and faces five felony charges, including two counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, auto burglary and tampering. He’s being held on $75,000 bail.

Sheriff: Arrests down in Carson City over busy Street Vibrations weekend

Even with beefed up patrols in Carson City this weekend for the Street Vibrations motorcycle rally, riders were not involved in any significant arrests during its peak Friday, Saturday and early Sunday, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.

“The crowds were happy, they were here for the events and nobody was here to cause a problem,” said Furlong. ”We had extraordinary patrol coverage everywhere this weekend and we were well prepared for any incident to come up and it never did.”

Pair hiding in crawl space arrested on felony drug charges

Two were arrested early Monday morning on felony drug and gross misdemeanor child endangerment charges after a search warrant led to their discovery in a crawl space where they were hiding, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested were Michael Tiehm and Ashley Marie Makara, both 25, of Carson City. According to the arrest report, deputies went to a home in the 3100 block of Minonee Drive in an attempt to serve arrest warrants on the pair.

Carson City deputies arrest three on felony charges

Two men with gang ties were arrested Wednesday in the 2700 block of Menlo Drive by the Tri-County Gang Unit. One of the men was wanted on a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of California, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Oswaldo Torres, 28, is being held without bail awaiting extradition on the California Department of Corrections warrant issued June 2, 2014. The other man, 29, faces misdemeanor warrant related charges.
