Carson City man jailed on felony domestic battery charge
A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of domestic battery with strangulation, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Tyrell Thomas was taken into custody in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive at 10:06 a.m. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location and spoke with the victim and the suspect.
Both advised they had an argument that became physical and that Thomas had choked the victim. Officers observed marks on the woman’s neck. Thomas was arrested without incident. Bail: $15,000.
— A 28-year-old Reno man, Daniel Bruce Magner, was jailed Tuesday on a felony warrant, attempted burglary, issued Sept. 23, 2014 out of Carson City District Court. He is being held without bail pending a hearing.
— A 57-year-old transient, Brenton Claude Buckner, was arrested Tuesday, 8:50 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street on a felony warrant for domestic battery. The warrant was issued Sept. 26, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 26-year-old Reno man was booked into Carson City jail Tuesday on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of conditions, issued April 4, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 24-year-old Reno man was booked Tuesday into Carson City Jail on two misdemeanor arrest of probationer warrants, both issued July 29, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000.
— A Palm Desert, Calif., man was arrested early Wednesday, 3:18 a.m., in the 700 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of DUI and violation of bail conditions. According to the arrest report, officers made contact with the driver at a convenience store. He refused to take field sobriety tests at the scene and at jail. A search warrant was issued to allow for a blood draw. Bail: $4,132.
Those arrested and facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
