RENO — January is National Radon Action Month, and University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s Radon Education Program is offering free short-term radon test kits to Nevadans from Jan. 1 through Feb. 29. I was scrolling around on Facebook today and ran into a post. “Once you are in a relationship, you think it’s going to last forever. In reality, it only lasts as long as you are both working for it. Historic Adele’s building is being offered for free to whoever wants to move and restore it

The historic Carson City building that was Cafe at Adele’s at the corner of North Carson and John Street was set for demolition, until it was offered to whoever wants it, so long as they move it from the property to its new home by March 1, 2020.

News: Manhard Consulting hires new CFO

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL and Carson City, NV – National civil engineering and surveying firm Manhard Consulting has hired Bradley Dalbec to serve as their Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Carson City man arrested for felony lewdness with a minor under 14, held on $250,000 bail

A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on a felony warrant for lewdness with a child under the age of 14 Thursday evening in the 2300 block of Gregg Street.

According to the report, Eugene Thomas Nichols Jr. was arrested on a warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court on Nov. 26.

Carson City's Richards Crossing residents receive gift giveaway from Red Hat Society

The Red Hat Society delivered warm bedding and clothing to each of the residents at Richards Crossing in Carson City last week. A local chapter of the Red Hat Society named the “Classy Sassy Bear Ladies” organized a Christmas gift giveaway for the residents. The giveaway, for which planning started over the summer, collected homemade and donated blankets, scarves and socks.

If there is one lesson that 2019 has taught me, it’s that I can’t do it alone. I can’t generate business alone. I can’t work myself through that tough day alone. I can’t do my life alone. Life and business require support. Yet, so many people are afraid to ask for help. They see it as a burden that they have a need. Or, like me, they are just too stubborn to reach out for fear of looking weak or incapable.

Obituary: William 'Bill' Clarence Thornton, 1934-2019

William "Bill" Clarence Thornton, father, attorney, pilot, part-time cowboy, corny joke-teller, and mentor to many, had his final flight on Tuesday, November 5th, 2019 after gracefully charting his course with Parkinson's Disease for over twenty years. Bill died peacefully at home in hospice care surrounded by loved ones.
