Carson City man arrested for felony lewdness with a minor under 14, held on $250,000 bail
A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on a felony warrant for lewdness with a child under the age of 14 Thursday evening in the 2300 block of Gregg Street.
According to the report, Eugene Thomas Nichols Jr. was arrested on a warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court on Nov. 26.
Special Enforcement Team deputies were dispatched to Nichols’ residence after a report came in that he was seen at his residence and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Deputies learned that Nichols is also a previous law enforcement officer and could be in possession of weapons, and has a record of avoiding Temporary Protection Order services in multiple prior attempts.
Deputies had attempted to make contact with Nichols previously on Dec. 6 and Dec 11. without success.
Deputies surrounded the residence and ordered Nichols to exit. After some time, his wife exited the residence and was patted down for weapons before being placed behind a position of cover for her safety.
She told deputies Nichols was planning to surrender.
After approximately 10 minutes, Nichols exited the residence and was taken into custody.
