The following is from the Sheriff's Office: Due to anticipated cold, wet, windy weather conditions Carson City Sheriff’s Office regrets to inform the community of the cancellation of the Cops and Kids Safe Streets Party which was scheduled for Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the National Weather Service a slight chance of showers and potential for wind is predicted. Unfavorable weather conditions may cause significant disruption in the planned outdoor activities. The event cannot be relocated indoors as accommodations are limited. Staff of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office wishes to thank those interested in attending and appreciates the community’s support.

The 16th annual Cops and Kids Safe Streets Party, hosted by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, will be held Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office administration building, 911 East Musser Street.

Public safety, awareness and community are at the center of this popular annual spring event where the theme is “Cops and Kids: Where the Community and Law Enforcement Come Together.”

Dahl's Pharmacy in Carson City has moved into a new and familiar location on Curry Street in the building that was formerly Mike's Pharmacy.

The family owned and operated independent Dahl's Pharmacy closed its location on North Carson Street and will reopen this Monday, May 13, at 1007 North Curry Street.

The weekend is at our doorstep as we head into Friday, May 10, 2019. Even though forecasters say we may have showers this weekend, the cool spring rain won't dampen the fun. We have a bevy of activities lined up Friday including the opening of the Transcontinental Railroad exhibit at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, day 1 of the two-day Mother's Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, RSVP's Spring Celebration and Carnival at Mills Park, a day hike, art showings, live music and more.

Heading into Tuesday, May 7, 2019 we are looking at another picture perfect day for a morning or evening stroll with Carson City's own Muscle Powered and a bevy of events, including a chamber digital marketing workshop, Polka Dot Powerhouse Carson City Chapter meeting and open house, family movie and craft night at the Carson City Library, a filmmaking discussion followed by a showing of the classic "12 Angry Men" at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall and more. Hello Carson City. We're heading into Sunday, April 28, 2019 with another fabulous Spring day ahead with highs in the low 70s. Events lined up include a cancer center benefit bow shoot hosted by Clear Creek Bowmen, a Muscle Powered bike ride, a Bee City USA Earth Week presentation, an open house at the Wungnema House in Mills Park, a Carson City Symphony concert and more. Spring is finally here, and Carson City is decked out in her spring finery. Sunday will be perfect for a stroll around town, so while you are out and about, stop by Mills Park for the Parks Foundation’s monthly open house at the Wungnema House, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The Wungnema House is the charming stone cottage located on the east side of Mills Park across from Carson High. It was built by a family of skilled Hopi stonemasons shortly after WWII and served as the family’s home until the early 1970s.

There is no admission fee, and all are welcome.

Track prep has been slow going but heck or high water pushing to make this happen. So now, Carson City BMX Open House is scheduled for Saturday, 20 April 2019, 1-4 pm and start our 2019 season on Sunday, 21 April 2019, signups 9-10 am (must be a USABMX member).

Today we're looking at mostly sunny skies and breezy with a daytime high in the mid-50s. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts because there's a chance of rain mixed with snow showers Thursday.

Good morning Carson City. It is Thursday, April 4, 2019. As matters at the legislature continue, we are winding up for another weekend full of activities, including the downtown wine walk and a bevy of shows at the Brewery Arts Center. We may see some showers today, Friday and early Saturday, typical for the early days of spring. Stay tuned.

Carson City Public Works will host an open house Saturday, May 11 with the department pulling all the stops to make sure there's plenty of activities and fun things to do for families.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the public works main facility, 3505 Butti Way off of Fairview. The open house will feature equipment tours, informational displays, raffle prizes, games, bounce houses, duck races and more.

Well the weekend sure went fast as we say goodbye to March. Now we're heading into Monday, April 1, 2019 where pranks, larks and tom foolery are orders of the day. No fooling when it comes to the weather though. We may see a slight chance of showers in the afternoon and evening with more of a chance of rain on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Welcome Carson City to Sunday, March 31, 2019. The last day of the month will bring sunny skies and a daytime high somewhere in the low 60s. Ideal spring weather before the next system arrives Monday bringing with it warmer temperatures but showers as well. Today there's art gallery showings, two children's theater performances, a bike ride and a tour of the stone Wungnema House at Mills Park.

The weatherman says Sunday is going to be warm and sunny; so come out to the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation’s monthly open house, Sunday afternoon at the Wungnema House, from 2 to 5 p.m. There is no admission fee, and all are welcome.

The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest will hold an open house on Wednesday, Feb. 27, to gather public ideas for requesting off-highway vehicle grant funds. The informal open house will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carson Ranger District Office, 1536 South Carson Street.

Carson City celebrated the grand re-opening of the newly remodeled Bob Boldrick Theatre in style with a black tie gala Tuesday night.
