Community feedback informs selection of new Carson City Library Director

“Trustees will be using the interviews and the community input from the meet and greet to select the library director during the May 30 meeting,” said Interim Director Diane Baker. “We appreciate all the input we’ve received from everyone involved.”
More than a dozen community members participated in Friday’s meet and greet, where they asked questions of the three finalists vying for the director position.

Military veterans and seniors to take flight in WWII biplane: Public invited to attend and watch Dream Flights
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Fri, 05/24/2019 - 3:02pmPre-selected military veterans and seniors will enjoy the thrill of a Dream Flight in a 1944 Stearman biplane, the same aircraft used to train military aviators during World War II. The flights are courtesy of Ageless Aviation Dreams Foundation (AADF), a Carson City-based nonprofit that honors U.S. military veterans nationwide with free Dream Flights. AADF has given more than 3,700 Dream Flights nationwide since 2011.
State museums in Nevada offer free admission for active-duty military families

The National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families program, now in its 10th year, launched the 2019 program on Saturday, May 18 – Armed Forces Day – and it will stay in effect through the Labor Day Weekend.

Army Reservist killed, 4 Nevada Army Guardsmen injured in Louisiana training accident

The ceremony was presented by the Carson Area Chapter 388 of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
