Support the Sea Services with the Navy League; Carson City Council of the United States Navy League meets May 15
Are you a supporter of the United States military, specifically the Sea Services? We need our Community to show that support! Come and learn more about the wide array of missions conducted by the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines.
The Carson City Council of the United States Navy League meets on quarterly basis with a dinner, short business meeting and informational speakers that talk about the various operations the Sea Services are involved in. This quarter’s Dinner and meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Gold Dust West Hotel and Casino, Carson City. The Social hour will start at 5:30 PM and Dinner will begin at 6:30PM.
This meeting’s guest speaker will be Colonel Kevin Hutchison, USMC, Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC) at Pickel Meadows, CA. Col. Hutchison was commissioned in 1995 and has had many assignments serving in various Commands throughout his 24-year career. He has completed several deployments to Okinawa and also served in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom and to Central and South America. Prior to assuming Command of MCMWTC in June 2018, he served as the Director of Inspections and Assistant Inspector General for Marine Corps matters. He is a graduate of the Winter and Summer Mountain Leaders Courses as well as, the Mountain Survival and Evasion Course.
This month’s dinner will be: Asian Buffett, consisting of; Soba noodle salad, crispy egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, fried rice, stir fry vegetables, with specialty desserts and fortune cookies.

The Carson City Council sponsors recognition programs and provides scholarships for Navy and Marine personnel at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center near Bridgeport, CA, Navy Recruiters in Reno and Sparks and five commands at NAS Fallon, NV. We also sponsor the Carson High Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Command and the USNS Carson City, EPF-7.
The Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902 and is a civilian organization with more than 50,000 members dedicated to educating American citizens and elected officials about the importance of sea power to U.S national security and supporting the men and women of the sea services and their families.
