In these different times, The Greenhouse Project will host the annual Celebrity Chef Dinner as a 'MaskurAid Ball' on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at Cucina Lupo in Carson city due to a last minute glitch at the Governor's Mansion. A hotline for Toys for Tots will soon be available for Carson City, Douglas, Storey and West Lyon County families in need of toys for the holidays.

COVID-19 Task Force takes action on high transmission risk counties such as Carson City, Lyon and more

The Nevada COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force met with nine counties flagged for having an elevated risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Carson City, Clark, Elko, Humboldt, Lincoln, Lyon, Nye and Washoe counties’ plans were previously approved by the Task Force.

'MaskurAid Ball' to raise money for The Greenhouse Project with dinner, raffles, and more

The Greenhouse Project is proud to announce the first MaskurAid Ball, taking place Jan. 4, 2021 in an event where masks are mandatory and costumes are optional.

Taking place at The Governor’s Mansion Nevada Room, the event will observe all social distancing and restricted capacity guidelines.Doors open at 5 p.m., a prize will be awarded for the Best Decorated Mask.

Carson Nugget to host annual Community Thanksgiving Feast with COVID measures in place

Winners announced in Nevada Day chalk art contest

The Carson City Host Lions Club is pleased to announce the winning entries in the Nevada Day Chalk Art Contest held on Oct. 31. The contest was open to all Carson City residents, households and businesses. Contestants created chalk art masterpieces on their own driveways or sidewalks based on the Nevada Day theme of “My Favorite Moment in Nevada.”

Carson City Chamber golf tournament raises $2,100 for Children’s Museum

On a beautiful Northern Nevada day, werewolves, pirates, escaped prisoners, witches, scuba divers, a Top Gun Tom Cruise look-alike, and other costumed creatures came out in force on Friday, October 30th to play in the Halloween Golf Scramble held at Silver Oak Golf to support the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce.

Soroptimist International of Carson City invites 'Women Helping Women' Honoree Sponsorship submissions for recognition event

7th Carson City Kiwanis Pancreatic Cancer golf, bench press tourney raises more than $13K

Carson City Kiwanis hosted the 7th Annual Pancreatic Cancer Golf Tournament and Carson City Bench Press Championships at Silver Oak Golf Course Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020. The sold-out event resulted in 140 golfers teeing off and 9 weightlifters bench pressing to raise over $10,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and over $3,000 for the Marilyn Elaine Scholarship.

The Carson City Jazz and Beyond Music and Art Festival is taking a new direction in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The festival was founded in 2004. This is the first year in which gathering of large crowds at musical events has been restricted due to health concerns.

Humane Society adjusts 'Adopt a Duck' fundraiser, $10K or car from Carson City Toyota goes to grand prize winner

Each year, the community gathers along the banks of the Truckee River to watch as hundreds of tiny yellow rubber ducks float across the water, and viewers cheer them on.

Adopt a Duck is one of the Nevada Humane Society’s biggest fundraising events of the year, and this year despite COVID-19, it will continue! However, instead of participants gathering on the banks, this year’s event will be live streamed from the Reno Shelter on August 29 at 12 p.m. and will consist of adorable shelter dogs and cats doing adorable activities.

Brewery Arts Center postpones 2020 Levitt AMP Carson City Concert series

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is continuing to monitor the latest developments about COVID-19. To comply with the mandate of Governor Sisolak, we are canceling the 2020 Levitt concert series to help lessen the spread of the virus.
