Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include Polar Express train rides, Touched By Angels hosts a garden craft show on Saturday, a night photo shoot at the Nevada State museum, Rob Sherwood headlines the Carson Comedy Club at the Carson Nugget, 'Matilda the Musical' and more!

During October, Michael Hohl Motor Company in Carson City held a pet food drive to fill a pickup for the national nonprofit Pets of the Homeless.

Going into Monday, Nov. 11, 2019 it is Veterans Day. Federal, state and local government offices and schools are closed to observe the holiday. Honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, Veteran's Day is Monday, Nov. 11 with a number of events happening around the capital city and Northern Nevada which began this week and will continue through Tuesday.

The Do Drop In at 1895 E. Long Street in Carson City is home to the Rural Center for Independent Living and the area's only day center for the homeless and mentally ill. With night time temperatures now well below freezing, Carson City's shelter for the homeless program "Night Off the Streets," will open its doors beginning Friday night.

In the wake of today's high winds, several homes on the west side of Carson City are again being inundated by tumbleweeds, most of which nearby residents claim are coming from the nearby Andersen Ranch, and the city isn't doing enough to stop it.

Two are in custody and face multiple charges related to an armed robbery that happened early Tuesday morning, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office captain.

An inmate at the Carson City Jail was booked on additional offenses after allegedly slamming his food tray into another inmate’s face multiple times during breakfast.

According to the report, Thomas Raymond Brown, 32, was booked on the additional offenses after deputies were collecting trays during morning meal times in Male General when they heard a verbal argument in the Trusty POD.

UPDATE: 7:24 AM: Carson City Sheriff's Office SAR reports the missing elderly woman has been located. She is safe and will be evaluated by Carson City Fire Department. She was found, outside, north of the Carson Plaza Senior Independent Living residence off of East Long Street.

Carson City Sheriff's Office and Search and Rescue have issued a Silver Alert for a missing 89-year-old woman who suffers from dementia and was last seen Monday afternoon.

Two were arrested Sunday for felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery that the vehicle stopped not only had drugs and paraphernalia inside but had been reported stolen, a Carson City sheriff's deputy report said.

A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 500 block of Southwest Court and Silver Sage Drive late Thursday evening for attempting burglary, resisting arrest, battery on a protected person, probation violation, and destruction of property.

Dakotah Orion Bliss-Erb was arrested after deputies were patrolling the area of Silver Sage and Clearview Drive when they observed a taxi parked on the corner with its hazards on.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2400 block of N. Carson Street for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and home invasion.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working with the Carson City School District to offer qualifying children all school-required vaccinations free of charge this Thursday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. at their clinic at 900 E. Long Street in Carson City, 775-887-2195.
