Carson City deputies make arrests for protection order violation, multiple DUIs

According to an arrest report, deputies responded late Sunday evening to a West Nye Lane apartment for a report of a man and woman arguing, yelling and screaming and a woman crying.
Carson City deputies arrest 18-year-old for probation violation after driving 10 mph in a 25 mph zone
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 11/22/2019 - 10:47am— An 18-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the area of 5th and Carson Street for probation violation after driving an unregistered vehicle at 10 mph in a 25 mph zone.
According to the report, deputies were patrolling in the area of 5th and Stewart when they began following an unregistered vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed, clocking in at 10 mph in a 25 mph zone.
The vehicle then turned into the Nevada Legislature service ramp area and a male and female exited the vehicle and walked away.
Carson City Board of Supervisors to discuss $1.25 million settlement with child allegedly abused at camp

Reno man held on $250,000 bail for sexual assault and three counts of privacy invasion
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 11/15/2019 - 10:54amA 35-year-old Reno man was arrested by Special Enforcement Team deputies on four felony warrants including sexual assault and invasion of privacy and is being held on a $250,000 bail.
According to the report, Jonathan Keith Graves was arrested after deputies received information that Graves had an outstanding felony warrant issued on Sept. 13, 2019 for sexual assault and intrusion of privacy with an electronic device. They learned that Graves would be driving from Douglas County to Washoe County between the hours of 5 and 6 p.m.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reports a serious injury crash late Sunday afternoon has shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 50 near Tall Pines Road in the Glenbrook area at Lake Tahoe.
Traffic blocked in Downtown Carson City due to non-injury vehicle crash
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 11/09/2019 - 4:38pmResponders were called to a non injury vehicle crash in front of Mom and Pop’s Diner on Carson Street at 3:36 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Another vehicle was initially reported and the reporting party stated a hit and run situation was involved, but then advises its possible the other driver of the vehicle didn’t realize a hit had occurred.
Traffic is being blocked. Avoid the area if possible.
Responders called to reported vehicle, garage on fire on S. Edmonds Road
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Fri, 11/08/2019 - 4:21pmAt 3:19 p.m. Friday afternoon a vehicle was reported to be on fire in the 4900 block of S. Edmonds Road.
As of 4:00 p.m. the fire was out and a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.
The Carson City Fire Department released this statement:
"Your Carson City Firefighters are on scene of detached garage fire on the south end of the city. Firefighters quick actions prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby trailer and house. One firefighter received a minor injury. The garage and one vehicle inside were destroyed in the blaze."
Carson City first responders and citizens team up to build safer community

The program incorporates life-saving and decision-making skills in order to decrease injury and mortality; providing help when an unplanned disastrous event unfolds which has the potential to overwhelm the existing response capability. Volunteers focused on disaster preparedness, practiced fire suppression, emergency operations, search and rescue techniques, and response to terrorism.

The 2019 season for CHS girls golf was a great experience for everyone on the team. This year, the team was comprised of five girls: Karen Beglin, Sophia Taggart, Karrina Ferris, Brooke Gudmundson, myself, and our coaches, Wade Greenlee and Jack Butler.
Responders called to Telegraph and Carson for motorcycle accident with injury

The reporting party stated the vehicle struck the motorcycle at a low rate of speed, and the motorcycle hit the vehicle in front of them.

Carson City deputies make arrest for possession of meth, stolen credit cards, burglary tool
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sun, 10/20/2019 - 10:38amA 33-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man were arrested by Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team deputies in the area of North Edmonds Drive for suspected possession of methamphetamine. The woman also faces charges of possession of stolen credit cards and having a burglary tool.

Responders called to vehicle crash with injury in Olive Garden parking lot

One woman is reported to be pregnant and an ambulance was called to respond for medical clearance.

Carson City Sheriff Canines will be safer in the field thanks to generous donation funding first aid training

“The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit greatly appreciates the generosity of Carson City Toyota,” said Furlong. “Year after year, Carson City Toyota has provided donations to the unit, which has been used to promote the health and training of our canine partners.”
