Capital City Arts Initiative presents 'H2O 2020' exhibition
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Sat, 07/18/2020 - 2:33pmThe Capital City Arts Initiative presents its exhibition, "H2O 2020", with work by eight Great Basin artists at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery: Cyndy Brenneman, Vanessa Martinez, Nolan Preece, Nancy Raven, Craig Sheppard, Dylan Silver, Cathryne Trachok, and Candida Webb. The exhibition will be in the gallery through Sept. 24, 2020.

However, the committee plans to go ahead with the second annual Open Studios Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23. Admission is free.

Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum in Carson City to reopen Monday
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Tue, 07/14/2020 - 4:22pmCARSON CITY, Nev. — The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum will reopen to the public on Monday, July 20, thanks to a generous donation from the family of a former Stewart Indian School principal. Opened in January and closed to the public in March because of the current health crisis, the Cultural Center faced severe budget cuts.

Historic coin press to run July 4 in Carson City

This will be the first time the museum has operated Coin Press No. 1 since it closed temporarily in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katherine Case and her linoleum-cut prints, that celebrate the animals and landscapes that celebrate the Sierra Nevada.
Many different sizes and images will be available, many are hand painted.
Light appetizers and beverages will be served.
The entire show will be held in the front yard and the gallery will be open.
