Motorcycle rider dies in crash near Carson City freeway ramp following brief pursuit

Evening hikes of 4 to 6 miles in length with an elevation gain, sometimes over 500 ft, and usually on single track trail. The evening hike will usually be of 1 1/2 duration or longer.

Walks of 1-22 miles in length with none or negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved and smooth paths. The walk will usually be approximately 1 hour in duration depending on the location.

The iconic signs depicting a lone prospector have stood at many interstate and freeway entrances into Nevada, welcoming drivers to the state for approximately 25 years.

Brush fire erupts near I-580 in Pleasant Valley area, fire crews respond

Firefighters were called Tuesday night to a brush fire that is burning north of Carson City off of Interstate 580 in the Pleasant Valley area.
The Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center and fire officials now say at least 40 acres have burned, and federal and state resources have been ordered. Smoke and flames are visible off the freeway. Nevada Highway Patrol dispatch reports the southbound side of I-580 has been reduced to one lane.

Emergency crews respond to four-vehicle crash at northbound I-580 onramp
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Sat, 06/11/2016 - 6:24pmUPDATE 7PM: One person has been flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno and one has been taken by ground ambulance following a four-vehicle crash on the I-580, Highway 50 East onramp. Two others suffered minor injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. At this time the make and models of the vehicles involved is unknown. Also unknown are the conditions and identities of the two patients seriously injured.
We will update as more information becomes available.

UPDATE 6:40PM: Care Flight will land north of the crash at the I-580, Highway 50 East onramp. One person will be flown and another will be taken via ground ambulance.
