Carson City arrests: Man with felony lewdness warrant jailed

A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday on a felony fugitive from justice warrant and suspected possession of methamphetamine, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Meet at 9 a.m. in the open dirt area near the Nevada Humane Society on Airport Road and Butti Way. The path is 0.8 miles one way, and it takes you along the freeway to North Lompa Lane.

All walks are 1-2 miles with duration of one hour with usually negligible elevation gain, and frequently on paved or smooth paths.

There is absolutely a little bit of everything this weekend. There’s somewhere to volunteer, somewhere to eat some fundraising pancakes, join in an Asian New Year Lion Dance Parade, Beer Crawl in downtown Carson City, and get your Zumba on. I think the eclectic mix of happenings is one of my favorite things about our corner of the world. Whether it’s the International Film Festival, the Vagina Monologues, or telescope viewing at the WNC Observatory: you can’t tell me there is nothing to do.

A 37-year-old Carson City man faces multiple felony charges including possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm and a warrant for grand larceny of a motor vehicle, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Eagle sculpture finally lands permanent home on south end of Carson City Freeway

The long-awaited, much-anticipated 800 pound metal eagle sculpture has finally found its permanent home Thursday on the south end of the Carson City freeway.

Rockin' around the roundabout

Someone has taken the holiday's spirit one more step and converted the roadside roundabout decorations and a pine tree to a Christmas tree near Arrowhead and I-580 in Carson City. In addition, one of the statues was transformed into Santa and his helper. Who knows, maybe Santa is the one to decorate this little corner of Carson City?

Northbound US 395 to I-580 Carson City freeway ramp closed Tuesday for sign update

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The northbound U.S. Highway 395 ramp to Interstate 580 Carson City Freeway will be closed Tuesday for installation of updated roadway signage.
