Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Monday morning to a vehicle accident in area of College Parkway and I-580 off ramp.

NV Energy and the Nevada Department of Transportation will do an emergency closure of Interstate 580 in northern Carson City and Washoe Valley this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18, during morning hours to make repairs to power lines damaged by a Washoe County aircraft last month.

Carson City man charged with DUI after driving through backyards with cold Coors Light in cupholder

A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Fairview and N. Edmonds drives Thursday at 11:23 a.m. for DUI first offense, open container, and failure to maintain a lane.

Deputies were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle accident in which a vehicle had driven through two fences and had come to a stop in the backyard of a residence on Quinn Drive.

Specifics: Meet at the south end of N. Lompa Lane at the corner of W. Modoc Court.

Closed-toed shoes or boots required. Long pants, long-sleeved shirts, hats, sunscreen and water are recommended to bring. Muscle Powered will provide gloves, pick-up sticks, and bags.
