UPDATE: As of 8 p.m., NV Energy reports 154 customers remained without power Monday night. Earlier the utility reported 3,700 customers without power in what appeared to be a widespread outage affecting areas from mid-town, William Street to Humboldt and portions of the west side.

The power outages began around 6:55 p.m.

As of 8 p.m. NV Energy says there’s four outages. At the peak of the time the power went out, the utility reported eight separate outages.

At 7:33 p.m., power returned to portions of William and Stewart Street and areas near Mills Park.

Carson City Fire Department received multiple alarms that were tripped due to the outages. Carson City dispatch advised when the outage happened they had received calls reporting the outage from multiple locations.

No word yet on the cause or estimated time when power will be restored.
