Light snow showers will continue today and and pick up tonight with less than an inch possible. As always be careful out on the roads. You'll be able to warm up at a number of venues today, including a holiday swing party with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at Casino Fandango's new Grand Ballroom and at the Carson City School District Orchestra Program concert at the community center.

Hello Carson City and welcome to Monday, Dec. 3, 2018. A busy week ahead will start off chilly with sunny skies today and chances of snow daily through Thursday. Otherwise, bundle up and enjoy the late fall weather. Winter officially arrives Dec. 21.

Holding with tradition, Virginia City is once again putting on its festive hat for a holiday celebration with music, lights, and heaps of holiday spirit.

With steady rain in the city early this morning, slushy snow in the foothills and heavy snow in the Sierra, we are on our way to winter even though it is still technically fall. It sure is beginning to look like Christmas, especially as we head into the weekend, with Friday's Silver and SnowFlakes Festival of Lights at the capitol and Saturday's downtown Holiday Crawl.

The Carson Mall Craft Fair is open now for the holiday season, with local crafts, toys, clothes, and more!

Come on down and shop for your Christmas treasures in comfort at the monthly indoor Flying Pig flea market, with more than 20 vendors to choose from offering antiques, jewelry, crafts, arts, knives, food and much more.

The flea market is located on Old Clear Creek Road across from Costco in the Fuji park metal building. Admission is $1 for adults and kids under 18 are free. Good morning Carson City, it is Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, which means we are one day away from the annual nationwide trick or treating Halloween ritual but ahead of those festivities is the second annual Boo-Nanza celebration today at the Carson City Community Center that you won't want to miss. Also on tap for today are morning walks and afternoon hikes, a film festival showing at the Brewery Arts Center and more.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City hosted its Safe Halloween Celebration on Sunday, October 28. There was trick or treating as well as spooky Halloween crafts for kids and their parents.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church in downtown Carson City at the corner of Telegraph and Division streets offers its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Nevada State Museum and Western Nevada College in Carson City are once again teaming up to present a Day of the Dead community celebration on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the museum.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free. Activities include performances by Mexican and Aztec folkloric dancers, an exhibition of altars, and Day of the Dead crafts including sugar skull decorating and face painting for youngsters.

CARSON CITY — As Nevada plans to celebrate its birthday this weekend, the Nevada Day Powwow aims to highlight the heritage that helped shape the state. While it will feature American Indian dancers from across the country and Canada, it will encompass more than native traditions.

Silver City Arts and Carson City artists are forming a sister city alliance.

The event takes place Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the Silver City Schoolhouse Community Center located at 385 High Street in Silver City from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
