UPDATE 6:15: A second subject in relation to the multi-agency chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest is now in custody following a SWAT and Tactical raid of an Emerald Bay grocery store.

According to South Lake Tahoe dispatch, a hitchhiker was identified by a witness, and was corroborated by a California State Park Ranger.

The man is in custody and the SWAT Team is currently sweeping the store for packages. It is reported that the man previously was carrying a backpack but one was not found on his person when he was taken into custody.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.:

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued the following statement:

Minden, Nevada- On July 26, 2019 at approximately 2:00 pm, a motor vehicle was being followed by an area Task Force. The subjects inside the motor vehicle had felony warrants and prior evading law enforcement arrests. Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was requested to shut down the area of SR 207 (Kingsbury Grade) and Foothill Road, Gardnerville, Nevada in anticipation the suspects were driving on SR 207 eastbound.

The suspects changed their direction and drove into South Lake Tahoe, Ca. One of the suspects was arrested in California.

Police and deputies from multiple regional units, including Carson City deputies, assisted on a chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest on Friday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., several Carson City and Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were seen ascending Spooner towards the lake who were, according to a Douglas County official, assisting with a chase of a woman who allegedly had a bomb strapped to her chest.

If you're up for for a walk or bike ride to get the oxygen flowing, it might be best to get it done first thing in the morning. Otherwise, there's plenty of ways to stay cool. Looking ahead for the first day of the work week there's a local talk, art classes, line dancing and more.

The Carson City region and much of western and northern Nevada may experience the hottest days of the year over the next couple days, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory from Sunday afternoon to Monday night.

As we begin to round out the work week heading into Thursday, July 18, 2019, we're looking at the same amount of sun with a daytime high around 90. Not bad for the middle of July. Heading into Monday, July 15, 2019 the Carson City region is looking at sunny skies, breezy conditions and a slight cooling trend over the next couple days, according to the National Weather Service. A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 500 block of Southwest Court and Silver Sage Drive late Thursday evening for attempting burglary, resisting arrest, battery on a protected person, probation violation, and destruction of property.

Dakotah Orion Bliss-Erb was arrested after deputies were patrolling the area of Silver Sage and Clearview Drive when they observed a taxi parked on the corner with its hazards on.

The Carson City Fair is returning for its third year this month, and it’s bringing big changes and several new events to its roster including a demolition derby, American Ninja Farmer contests, jello eating contests, animal auctions, and more.

Heading into Monday, July 8, 2019 we want to give a big shout out to all the local organizations and agencies that made this Fourth of July weekend around the Carson City region one to remember. For Monday we're looking at a number of events including a basketball camp at the MAC, a children's theater camp, a local talk with the Carson City Airport manager, art activities, line dancing and more.

A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Siskiyou and Selby for suspicion of DUI, parking in a prohibited place, “driving on right half of highway,” and underage consumption of alcohol, a sheriff's office report states.

The Artisan Cafe in Carson City will host a collection drive Monday, with organizers asking Carson City residents to donate items needed for students affected by the explosion at Argenta Hall on the University of Nevada, Reno campus Friday.

As we go forward and move ahead into Tuesday, July 2, 2019 we're looking at another sunny day, all the better as we prepare to celebrate Independence Day. Reno-Tahoe International Airport expects an average of 15,000 passengers to arrive and depart daily, Wednesday through Sunday during the July 4 holiday peak period, a 12 percent year-over-year increase as officials say air service is "on the rise" at the airport.
