Senator Square: Carson High School graduate addresses National Honor Society members

National Honor Society held its induction ceremony Sept. 23 in the CHS Big Gym featuring guest speaker Ryan Costella a 2000 CHS graduate. Costella was an active member of NHS, and this fact influenced his desire to attend college at Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA where he earned degrees in Political Science and English.

Ticks not only can carry disease, they are disgusting. I have rarely noticed ticks on our property, but recently, I found two in the house, where they must have come in on my clothes after I worked in the high grasses and wildflowers in the yard. Yuck! Fortunately, they weren’t engorged with blood.

Make it a Safe Return: NDOT provides back-to-school walking, bicycle riding tips

CARSON CITY — As schoolchildren across the region prepare to go back to school, the Nevada Department of Transportation is providing tips to safely bicycle and walk to school.

Tragically, there were approximately 80 pedestrian fatalities and eight bicyclist fatalities on Nevada roads last year. We hope all drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists will share the road to help our communities safely travel back to school.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team arrested a couple Saturday at a Carson City motel they had been living in for suspicion of felony child abuse/neglect and drug possession.

Alleged leader of local 'outlaw motorcycle club' arrested on plethora of charges by SET, Tri-County Gang Unit

A 49-year-old Carson City man was arrested by the Tri-County Gang Unit withe the assistance of the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team, on five felony charges, one gross misdemeanor charge, and three misdemeanor charges after he allegedly committed felony domestic battery.

According to the report, David Sanchez is the president of the Deadly Sins Motorcycle Club Carson City Nevada chapter and he is associated with the Vagos Motorcycle Club and was arrested in the 900 block of Woodside Drive early Friday morning.
