On June 2nd, 2023, Zoe Ward, one of our talented young actors from Wild Horse Children's Theater, received the devastating diagnosis of childhood brain cancer, specifically DIPG/DMG, shortly after her eleventh birthday.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater announces auditions for young singers, dancers, and actors (ages 8-18), for the Northern Nevada premiere of “Oliver, JR”. Based on Charles Dickens’ novel, Oliver Twist, this musical won the Tony and Olivier Awards, and is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture! It is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike.

We are auditioning to add new cast members for Wild Horse Children's Theater elite Junior Theater Festival Performance Troupe. We are looking for talented young people, ages 10-18, to perform at the Junior Theater Festival West 2022 in Sacramento, Calif.

Wild Horse Stage Company is announcing auditions for the Carson City premiere of the Broadway musical RENT! How far will you go? Travel with Wild Horse Children’s Theater to the Village of Motunui as we present the Northern Nevada premiere of Disney’s Moana, Jr. Actors, singers and dancers, ages 5 to 18, are invited to audition for this musical adventure!

The V&T Railway Commission in partnership with the historic Virginia-Truckee Railroad and Rail Events, Inc. is holding auditions for their annual production of The Polar Express Train Ride as we bring this beloved and inspirational story to life aboard the historic V&T Railroad for the 2021 season.

Four Carson High students, Anthony Larry, Connor Lampert, Danielle Van Dusen, and Sarai Jauregui Rivas made the first cut, though all of CHS Graphic Design Instructor Patricia Ababio’s students submitted entries.

Secrets of Harridge House, a weekly radio drama produced by Proscenium Players, Inc. and KNVC 95.1 FM Carson City premieres this Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 at 8 p.m. Created by John Adams and Scott Young, the story follows three siblings who were separated as infants and reunited almost 30-years later as they inherit the family estate in fictional Harridge, Nev.

Proscenium Players, Carson City’s longest running theater company is casting for voice actors in the production of an original radio drama “Secrets of Harridge House” with 13 episodes. The premiere broadcast is scheduled for this fall and multiple seasons are planned.

Youth Theatre Carson City is thrilled to announce our upcoming Virtual Summer Workshop Series, held exclusively online over six weeks, June 16 to July 23, 2020 as part of their YTCC@Home initiative.

Youth Theatre Carson City is bringing local experts, home-grown successes, and industry professionals from New York, Los Angeles, Boston and beyond right into your living room covering topics from acting and singing to theatrical design and songwriting to building relationships and becoming a successful professional in the arts.

He is the fearless leader of Carson High School, and he is taking his teachers through uncharted territory in order to guide them into successfully teaching and caring for their students during this time of uncertainty. His name is Gavin Ward, and he is doing a fantastic job as the Principal of CHS, being both available and supportive while encouraging teachers, students, and even parents to engage their students with much-needed health, hope and heterochromatic learning.

“We did our free clinic at the Community Center, and what a turnout we had; around 100 participants showed up, we had a ton of fun, and we even had high school varsity players help coach the clinic as well” said Carson High School Varsity Basketball coach Jordan Glover.

Heading into the first Thursday in March and we're looking at continued sunshine with a high near 70. Happenings lined up include a Carson City Board of Supervisors meeting, auditions for the Carson City Follies show in July, trivia night at Bella Vita Bistro, a wood design workshop at Rustically Divine, an artist reception for Galen Brown and Emily Kray at Western Nevada College and a Muscle Powered afternoon hike. CARSON CITY — Comedy thru the Ages, the 2020 production of the Carson Follies, is seeking actors, dancers, singers and stage personnel for its upcoming show July 10-12. Auditions will be held Thursday, March 5, and Tuesday, March 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive in Carson City.

This past weekend, Youth Theatre Carson City’s Showstoppers show choir traveled to Southern California to compete in the Musical Theatre Competitions of America 2020, a national competition with 35 teams representing 19 states and 3 countries, and brought home two major awards: 2nd place Advanced/Open Musical Revue and 3rd place Advanced/Open Ensemble Performance.

Heading into the last weekend of January there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a Chinese New Year Celebration at the Nevada State Museum and the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada. The Carson Comedy Club hosts its first Military Appreciation Night on Friday at the Carson Nugget. Carson Valley’s 18th annual Eagles and AG Photo Contest will be underway and live music will keep the Silver State buzzing with excitement. Read on for more information.

The Misfits Theater Group in Dayton is holding auditions for its Spring melodrama “Showdown at Phingerdoo or Bad Day at Dead Frog Flats” on Sunday, January 26 at 6 p.m. at the Dayton Library, 321 Dayton Valley Rd, Dayton. This old-time melodrama directed by Andra Woolman is set in the Wild West and has a cast of eight (8) men and five (5) women. As with all melodramas, good triumphs over evil, love wins out, and laughs abound! Performance dates are April 24, 25, 26 and May 1, 2, 3 at the Odeon Hall in Dayton. Heading into the weekend, there’s a mountain of activities around the Carson City region over the next three days. Events include a toy and gift drive for homeless kids and teens, the 12th annual Christmas Carol Playalong for Strings at the Carson Mall, Carson City’s first-ever "Unsilent Night" at the Brewery Arts Center, a Só Sol dinner with entertainment at Sassafras, a "Pink Party" cancer center fundraiser at the Lighthouse Bar, comedian Dan St. Paul at the Carson Comedy Club and more.

Enjoying the mix of sunshine, clouds and the overall late fall conditions around the capital city? More of the same is expected Wednesday into Thursday, with another system due in time for the weekend. Activities around Carson City include an educational discussion on dementia presented by the Alzheimer's Association at the Carson City Library, a moonlight walk to C-Hill, a "Get Fit with Fight Camp" at Yaple's Ballroom, art showings, a Carson Valley Community Theatre audition call for two plays, classes and more.

Carson Valley Community Theatre will be holding auditions for two new productions, Putnam County Spelling Bee and "Nunsense II," on Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. Mark your calendars and come to The Annex, 1572 Hwy 395 in Minden to audition for one, or both, productions.

Sign up to audition for "Heather the Musical (High School Edition)," on December 21 at 10:00 am (callbacks later that day). This production is the inaugural show of the newly-formed adult and young adult theater company, Wild Horse Stage Company which produces both small and large scale shows geared towards adult and young adult performers and audiences in Northern Nevada. be prepared to sing a song with accompaniment. Piano sheet music, CD or a tape, and a cappella can be accommodated.
