Thursday in Carson City offers fun stuff like live music at Living the Good Life and Sassafras, karaoke at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar, and the Silver Dollar Classic Car Cruise night. Monty Python lovers should audition for ‘Spamalot’ at the Brewery Arts Center. The Novelists make an appearance at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historical Park as part of their Twilight Concert series; you’ll want to bring a chair or blanket. Don’t miss your last chance to see the CCAI exhibit by Nancy Raven at the BRIC.

There’s a riot at Mills Park. Don’t worry, this isn’t the kind of riot you want to avoid: the Rockabilly Riot has roared into town and offers rad cars, drag races, live music, a burlesque show and tattoo expo. Intermingled with the pompadours and pin-up girls are hundreds of law enforcement officers in town to show off their skills at the Annual Extreme Motor Officer Training Challenge. Tonight you’ll have to choose where you go for free music: the street dance at Jimmy G’s, Gold Dust West, Westside Pour House, the Fandango, Nugget, or Max Casino.

Auditions open for melodrama 'Train to Danger' with performances aboard the V&T

Lollipop Productions in conjunction with the V&T Railway will hold open auditions on June 21, 2016, for the old time melodrama “Train to Danger” written by John Burkhart.

In “Train to Danger,” railroad heiresses, the Pullman sisters, are stranded in a snowstorm in Hidden Gulch. Handsome engineer, Tom Truetrack is to see to their safety during their trip home.

Wild Horse Children's Theater wants YOU to take a magical journey to "A Whole New World" in our summer production of Disney's "Aladdin, Jr., at the Carson City Community Center. Auditions are open to those ages 5-18.

Kids crowd Community Center for chance to be in Youth Theatre production

The Youth Theatre of Carson City held auditions for parts in its junior production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland on Saturday in the Carson City Community Center's gymnasium. Children K-12 were eligible to come out and try to be part of the play that is scheduled to run April 8-10. For kids not able to afford the $100 tuition, scholarships were also available.

We are looking for actors, singers, and dancers grades K-12, who will be cast to play all the classic characters including Alice, The White Rabbit, The Mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, and of course, The evil Queen of Hearts – plus a host of other colorful characters.

Senator Square: Honor Society holds winter blood drive; signups begin for Polar Plunge

National Honor Society is hosting its winter blood drive. It will take place on January 28 in the library from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. It is open to community members.  Refreshments and a free cholesterol test is available with each donation. Senator Square: Gearing up for the Carson High School talent show

The annual talent show is coming up at Carson High School. The event will take place 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Carson Community Center. Auditions for the talent show will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2:05 p.m. in the upstairs cafeteria at CHS. Audition applications can be picked up from room No. 243 or the office. The CHS talent show is only open to ninth through 12th graders at CHS and cash prizes are awarded. The CHS chapter of FBLA is hosting this event.
