Opening of new Shoe Tree Brewery in Carson City targeted for December
Excitement surrounding the new Shoe Tree Brewing Company in Carson City has been building all summer long as brothers Jeff and Paul Young have been working to complete their new brewing facility and tasting room located on the Carson Hot Springs Resort property.
The Youngs said they are hopeful to hold a soft opening followed by a grand opening within the next couple of months.
“We are making a hard push for a soft opening in December and a grand opening in January,” they said.
Exterior work has been completed on the facility, as well as major construction work inside. There is still interior painting that needs to be done, the Young brothers said.
Otherwise, the facility is nearly move-in ready to receive its brewing equipment, they said.
Construction on the roughly 2,000 square-foot building next door to Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint began in April.
At the time, the space consisted only of a detached two-car garage that now will house the tasting room and retail space of The Shoe Tree Brewing Company.
The brewery, which takes up the majority of square footage, is located in an entirely new structure built from the ground up.
The Youngs originally hoped to be open by late summer, but delays in permitting, with inspections, and the limited availability of contractors have pushed back the opening.
"The good news is, things are coming together quite quickly now and we don't anticipate any further delays," they said.
