Saturday shred day in Carson City to benefit Special Olympics of Nevada
There will be a Community Shredding and Electronics Recycling Day Saturday, Oct. 14 in Carson City with proceeds to benefit Special Olympics of Nevada.
The event hosted by Offsite Data Depot is open to the public, and individuals and companies are encouraged to participate. One hundred percent of the money collected will support local Special Olympic athletes.
Bring in your old confidential documents and have them professionally shredded on-site from 9 a.m. to noon. There's no need to remove staples, paper clips or binder clips. The event will be held at the corner of Curry and 3rd Street in Carson City, the same parking lot as Farmer’s Market.
You can also bring in your old electronics to have them recycled. There will be recycling of computers, LCD monitors, fax machines, copiers, cell phones tablets, cameras, flat-screen TVs, etc. Sorry, no tube TVs or CRT monitors.
Suggested donation of $5 per standard file storage box (or equivalent) or electronic device. Maximum of 50 boxes of shredding per person on shred day (call Offsite if you have more than 50).
Donuts provided by SNAR and coffee provided by Dutch Brothers ($5 donation suggested). Barbecue hamburgers and hotdogs (w/ chips and drink) will be available after 10 a.m. for a $5 donation suggested. Every $5 donated (shred, recycle or food) gets a raffle ticket for great prizes (need not be present). Additional raffle tickets available for $5 each.
