Carson City Chamber to televise local candidates forum
Giving the community one last chance to hear and meet the candidates for mayor and supervisor prior to the start of early voting, the Carson City Chamber is holding a Candidate’s Forum at the Gold Dust West on Monday, Oct. 17.
The luncheon event will be moderated by Nevada Appeal Editor Adam Trumble and Carson Now owner/publisher Kirk Caraway.
Questions posed will center on each candidate’s vision of the future and how they propose funding for any future capital improvements. The event will be televised live promptly at noon on Carson Now and archived for personal viewing for those not able to attend the luncheon or view the event on Monday, Oct. 17.
“Our Board of Directors wants to make certain those running for local office understand the concerns of the business community, thus we felt offering another look at the candidates to assess their position on where we go from here is important."
Those who wish to attend the live event must call the Chamber at 882-1565 to rsvp for the luncheon prior to Friday, October 14. Cost is $18 per person to include the lunch. The candidates will be available to meet and greet before and after the event. Early voting begins Saturday, Oct. 22.
