Carson City deputies arrest woman for possession of methamphetamine, child endangerment
A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 800 block of N. Carson Street for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment.
According to the arrest report, Leilani Kristine Salter-Arms was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the residence in reference to a suicide threat. A witness had called 911 stating a woman, Salter-Arms, was threatening suicide by knife, and that there was a baby involved in some way.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Salter-Arms at her residence, in a room she was residing in at a local Inn with her 4 month old child.
Salter-Arms told deputies the baby was upstairs with a neighbor being cared for. She told deputies the baby was hers and they had been living in the Inn for three months.
Deputies noted that the room appeared to be in “poor order” and that Salter-Arms did not appear to be able to care for herself or her baby, and she was allowing people she did not know to stay in the room with her and the baby.
Social services responded to the residence to assess the situation.
During the interview with social services, Salter-Arms allowed deputies to search her purse. Inside, they found a small pink pouch, which contained a baby thermometer and tweezers, along with five hypodermic needles and two small bags of what appeared to be methamphetamine.
Salter-Arms said both the purse and the pouch were hers.
Salter-Arms was taken into custody and the baby was taken by social services.
Bail: $6,137
