Janet Jackson: Pop icon delivers powerful message
Janet Jackson brought her State of the World tour to Reno last fall and then to Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys on Friday, Aug. 10, before stirring up Outside Lands Festival on Sunday night with a performance many hailed as the best of the fest in San Francisco.
At Outside Lands — on the one-year anniversary of Charlottesville violence — her set opened with a video backdrop that included what KQED Arts described as a bold statement against hate groups.
“We want justice,” she said. Tahoe Onstage photographer Larry Sabo captured Jackson’s Tahoe show, which had a near-identical set list to her San Francisco concert.
