Applications sought for Carson City wildlife, visitors bureau boards
Applications are being sought by the Carson City Board of Supervisors for volunteer positions on the Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife and the Carson City Visitors Bureau.
The Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife addresses wildlife matters within Carson City. The meetings vary in number, usually with the onset offishing and hunting seasons, and could be up to six hours a month.
There are currently three openings each for a term that will expire in July 2018. Applications will be accepted until July 6, 2015. Interviews for this volunteer position are tentatively planned to be held at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting on Thursday, July 16, 2015.
The upcoming appointments of a new members to the Carson City Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife will be the appointment of a qualified person to represent the interests of the general public. This person must be a registered voter as well as a resident of Carson City but need not be a sportsman, rancher or farmer.

Applications may be obtained from and returned to the Carson City Executive Offices. All applications submitted will be considered public information.
Meanwhile, Supervisors are seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Carson City Visitors Bureau. This Board oversees all tourism matters within Carson City. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 4 p.m. at the Community Center, Sierra Room. Applicants must be willing to serve approximately six to eight hours a month.
There is one position open in the Hotel/Motel Industry category; the term will expire in July 2017.
The Board of Supervisors will interview and appoint the qualified person to the Board. Applicants must be a representative from a Carson City Hotel/Motel/RV Park to qualify.
