Empty Bowls bowl decorating at the Third and Curry Farmers Market
Empty Bowls could use a creative hand or two Saturday. More than 500 bowls need to be decorated for this year’s event that coincides with the Silver and Snowflake Tree Lighting event.
Stop by the Empty Bowls booth at the Third and Curry Farmers Market and make your artistic mark on an empty, unadorned bowl from 8:30 a.m. until they run out of the 50 bowls they bring.
Open to all ages and ability levels, Empty Bowls bowls are one of a kind and a reflection of our wonderfully diverse community.
Empty Bowls is also looking for volunteers to help run the Farmers Market Booth. A simple four hour commitment once, or as often as you’d like, during the 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Farmers Market is all that is required. No experience necessary, just a desire to help out. Contact Empty Bowls coordinator, Robin McGregor at 775-313-8628 or at carsoncitypottery@yahoo.com. Check out the Empty Bowls Carson City Facebook Page HERE.

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls.
In December guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a cash donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. In Carson City it is FISH.
Please find the time, make the commitment, and get involved. Your single effort can have a profound impact.
