Pursuit on Carson City freeway ends with one in custody at College Parkway gas station
A vehicle pursuit that began in Washoe Valley ended Tuesday night with one man in custody after the vehicle was stopped at the Maverik gas station in the 1400 block of College Parkway in Carson City, according to dispatch.
The suspect vehicle, a white truck, apparently hit spike strips set on the road by the Nevada Highway Patrol, with the pursuit ending at around 10:55 p.m.
The vehicle was spotted going southbound through Washoe Valley on I-580 at speeds between 90 to 100 mph, according to radio dispatch. As it approached Carson City it was met by Carson City sheriff's deputies and additional NHP troopers who pursued the vehicle when it turned onto College Parkway and then went through the Harley Davidson parking lot.
The suspect vehicle then turned around, went through a construction zone area and drove into the parking lot of the gas station where the male driver attempted to flee.
One Carson City sheriff's patrol vehicle also hit the NHP speed spikes that resulted in flat tires. No injuries were reported. The incident investigation is being handled by the NHP. We will update as more information becomes available.
