Carson City now accepting Letters of Intent for Community Development Block Grant Projects
Carson City is now accepting Letters of Intent for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects taking place July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025.
The City is specifically seeking projects correlating with the City’s FY 2023-2028 Consolidated Plan, approved on August 3, 2023.
Funding requests need to be a minimum of $10,000, and the project must benefit 51% or more low- to moderate- income persons.
Eligible projects include:
- Construction of ADA compliant sidewalks
- Improving access to public facilities
- Providing supportive services for low- to moderate- income households
- Reducing blight in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods and/or code enforcement
- Providing mental health and/or substance abuse services
Carson City is an entitlement grantee, receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds directly from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD awarded Carson City $353,923 to fund city departmental and nonprofit projects that meet one or more of the three national objectives: providing benefit to low-income households or persons, elimination of slums and blight, or meeting urgent community development need.
