Topaz Lake gets stocked with fresh rainbow trout
Topaz Lake is located at the Nevada/California state line on U.S. 395, about 40 miles south of Carson City.
Monday, March 17 was a chilly, very windy, white-capped day at the lake.
Elaine and I were there to take photos of the low water levels caused by our on-going drought, and we got some unexpected, bonus photos of fish being planted.
A Nevada Department of Wildlife fish truck arrived at the Douglas County Campground boat ramp, backed down to the edge of the water and then planted 5,400 rainbow trout from the NDOW Mason Valley Fish Hatchery.
Now you know where to go to catch rainbow trout.
