Jason Woodbury files for Carson City District Attorney
Jason Woodbury filed Friday as a candidate for Carson City District Attorney. This marks Woodbury’s first run for office and he says he’s looking forward to it.
“The folks I’ve talked with have a keen sense of their local government, and they’ve shared a number of concerns with me already. I have been encouraged by the positive reception from the public,” Woodbury said. “In the coming months, I hope to hear more about the service they expect from their District Attorney’s office.”
Woodbury has been a lawyer in Carson City since 1998, practicing privately for the last 11 years. Before that, he worked in the Carson City District Attorney’s office from 1999 to 2003.
Asked about his priorities, Woodbury emphasized work quality. “The best thing we can do to help victims of crime in this community is to provide a high level of service and a standard of professionalism second to none,” Woodbury said.
He added, “We need to handle these cases efficiently and skillfully so victims can put the experience behind them.”
Addressing other responsibilities of the District Attorney, Woodbury said, “The D.A.’s office must fulfill its key role in ensuring the transparent and ethical operation of local government.”
“A campaign is a chance to listen to the voters and show them the kind of person you are and preview the kind of public officer you would be. I have told all my supporters I will run a campaign they will be proud to support,” he said.
Woodbury, 41, and his wife Stacy live in Carson City where they are raising three children. For more information about Jason Woodbury, visit www.jasonwoodbury.com.
