Kids and drugs to be topic of Carson City Chamber’s Soup’s On! luncheon
The public is invited to a very special Carson City Chamber educational luncheon on Monday that should be of interest to every mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle and others concerned about drug use in our children beginning in the fourth grade.
Many well-meaning adults do not realize the drugs in their medicine cabinet may be the pathway to their child’s drug use.
Hannah McDonald, Youth Program Coordinator for Partnership Carson City, will present an eye-opening presentation showing how to spot potential drug use in your child. Even that innocent looking yellow highlighter could be more than it seems. The latest clothing trends could have many hidden pockets to stash drugs that you wouldn’t know about unless you learned what to look for. McDonald will “tell all.” Forewarned is forearmed and could save a child from drug abuse.
McDonald has presented this timely and controversial topic to the National Conference of First Ladies in Washington, D.C, statewide youth conferences and to the Nevada State Legislature.
District Attorney Neil Rombardo will provide a special introduction to the presentation. The DA’s office has been very involved in the anti-drug movement.
