Carson City chamber celebrates remodel with Artisan Showcase open house
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce held an open house Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015 to unveil its new Artisan Showcase. The works of talented artists from within the region are now showcased along with metal artisan Robbie St Clair who created a special sculpture for the event.
The chamber recently finished an overhaul of its building including adding the Artisan Showcase where local art and jewelry are sold. It commissioned St Clair to recreate the Carson City freeway eagle to a size suitable for displaying in homes or on desks.
The Eagle stands guard over Eagle Valley seen along the I-580 corridor when entering or leaving Carson City from the North.
On hand for the grand opening, Mary Fischer of GROW, who helped spearhead the art and sculptures along the freeway that we see today. St. Clair and Chamber Director Ronni Hannaman presented Mary with one of the freeway-inspired works of art.
