Carson City arrests: Deputies make drug and DUI arrests
A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor driving on a revoked license for DUI, and two warrants, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Franklin Delano Risner was arrested at 1:28 a.m. in the area of 9th Street and West Curry. According to the arrest report a deputy on patrol was in the area of South Carson and West 9th and observed a Dodge pickup without a license plate.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the man who advised he had a moving permit for the truck but stated he did not have a driver’s license, the report states.
A records check showed his license to be revoked for DUI and that he had two active and confirmed 2015 Carson City warrants. He was arrested. During a search a deputy found a small baggie with a small amount of methamphetamine in the coin pocket of the man’s pants, the report states.
He was mirandized and said he understood his rights, stating the plastic bag contained meth, the arrest report states. Bail: $4,877.
In other arrests:
— A 39-year-old Clio, Calif., man was arrested Tuesday, 8:24 p.m. in the area of Oxoby Loop and East William Street for misdemeanor suspicion of driving under the influence and failure to obey a traffic control device.
According to the arrest report, a deputy on patrol was behind a white Ford truck and observed it approach the intersection with Roop Street and then failing to stop for a clearly illuminated red light and drove through the intersection.
The deputy conducted a stop and could smell a strong odor of alcohol. The man said he had a couple beers. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment and blew a .206 preliminary breath test. He was arrested and agreed to provide an evidentiary blood test at jail. Bail: $1,224.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 6:02 p.m. in the area of 1400 North Carson Street for a failure to appear traffic court warrant. Bail: $300.
