Updated Voter Registrations in Nevada by Party
The Secretary of State, Ross Miller, has posted updated information on voter registration in Nevada, as of Oct 2012, broken down by party and counties. According to Secretary Miller, Nevada registered voters total slightly more than one and a half million. The breakdown is approximately 42% Democrat, 34% Republican and 24% Others. For either major party to win it requires a substantial percentage of independent or unaffiliated voters unless some voters fail to cast their ballots.
There are some headlines in the state that lead readers to believe the overwhelming voter count in Nevada is Democrat, however Democrats do not have a lock on a majority in Nevada and those unaffiliated with either major party will likely determine the outcome of any election. Real Clear Politics is still currently listing Nevada as a tossup state where the outcome can go either way.
Voters should not believe anyone in Nevada that their vote won't make any difference in the outcome and should confidently cast their ballot for their candidate of choice. That is still their Constitutional right that cannot be taken away unless the voters come to believe in a few false or misleading headlines about party majorities.
