Lattin Farms Scarecrow Factory
FALLON, Nev.—Lattin Farms, home of the Nevada corn maze, will be hosting their annual Scarecrow Factory at Lattin Farms on October 22, 2011.
The Scarecrow Factory is one of the most popular family events on the farm. The cost to participate in the event is $5.00. All proceeds will benefit Goats R Us and 4-H Club.
The factory runs from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Every year, Lattin Farms donates the straw for the event, and volunteers from those non-profit programs staff the factory and provide each person a kit. The kits consist of a shirt, pair of jeans, and other accessories. Each participant will have an opportunity to make their own scarecrow to take home with them.
Rick Lattin, the owner of Lattin Farms, said “The Scarecrow Factory is one of the most popular events on the farm and gives kids a hands-on activity that they get to take home with them, which also helps out community non-profit organizations.”
It is an activity that entire family can enjoy. “My family had a great time. My kids especially enjoyed stuffing pants and the shirt of the scarecrow with straw. We’ll definitely come back and do it again next year,” said Lynda Rasmussen, Churchill County resident.
