Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day - Spring

Join us for a morning of land-healing, intensely gratifying, ecosystem restoration work.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to this fun, hands-on, in-the-field event. By pitching in, you will help improve the ecosystem function and the wildlife habitats that surround Lake Tahoe.

Healthy forests and meadows act as natural pollution filters to Keep Tahoe Blue. Volunteers will be provided training, equipment, refreshments, giveaways and lunch. In partnership with the Washoe Environmental Protection Department.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. Franktown Apples in Washoe Valley is hosting apple picking Friday through Sunday. In celebration of National Public Lands Day, Nevada State Parks will have a fee-free day on Saturday filled with hikes and tours. Boys & Girls Club offers back to school activities, learning programs for Carson City area kids

As the 2020-21 school year continues, the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada is packed with learning programs and exciting activities for kids of all ages.

The Carson City location at 1870 Russell Way is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with dozens of hands-on programs. Spots inside the building are limited to 135 kids each day, but countless activities will be held throughout the year.

Learn about Pioneer High School in Carson City in time for the 2020 School Year

Pioneer High School is a public high school in the Carson City School District. All 9th-12th grade CCSD students are encouraged to enroll. PHS is accredited through AdvancED and has been recognized by the Nevada Department of Education as a “Highlighted School” for achievement in 2011 and 2018. Students at PHS have been able to earn an Associate’s Degree from WNC along with their high school diploma free of charge.
