Free Shred Day at Greater Nevada Credit Union
Greater Nevada Credit Union will host its annual Carson City Shred Day on Saturday, June 8 from 9 am to noon.
The event will include shredding and recycling services by American Document Destruction and Offsite, child safety information and K-9 Unit appearance from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
GNCU will hold the event in the Eagle Station branch parking lot, located at 451 Eagle Station Lane. Community residents are invited to drop off up to four boxes of personal paper documentation that they would like to safely destroy and recycle. Documents must be removed from binders, though attached staples and paper clips are acceptable.
GNCU Operations Manager, Rose Smith, said that Shred Day accomplishes several things. “The event helps residents reduce their risk of identity theft and fraud by securely destroying documents that contain personal and financial information. It also helps the environment through properly recycling documents, rather than tossing them into our landfills.”
