Parks Foundation Seeks Nominations for 2018 Community Awards
The Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, in conjunction with the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department, annually recognizes individuals, organizations, and businesses for outstanding contributions made to further the combined missions of the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation and the Carson City Department of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space.
FCCPR seeks nominations of individuals, organizations, and businesses to be recognized in 2018. The categories for which nominations are sought are Organization of the Year, Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Volunteer of the Years.
The selected honorees will be added to the Wall of Honor located at the entrance to the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park.
The 2018 awards ceremony will be held there on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 5:30 pm. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be an Open House at the historic Wungnema House to honor the current and past honorees.
The public is invited to send award nominations and may do so requesting a nomination cover and instructions via email from the Foundation at carsoncityparksfoundation@gmail.com (please put "Honor Wall" in the subject line). Completed nominations are due by June 15, 2018.
Nominations will be reviewed and awardees selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors at their June meeting.
Others may also be remembered or recognized on a wall adjacent to the Honor Wall. For a donation of $100 or more per name, the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation will add the name to the wall. Please provide a short biography or reason the name is to be so honored, and send it, along with the donation to the Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation, P.O. Box 3266, Carson City, NV 89702-3266. Contact David Bugli at 775-883-4154, or email the Foundation, if you have any questions.
