Nevada Health Centers, Inc. Helps Thousands of Nevadans Receive Health Care Through Brick Campaign
Carson City, Nev. (March 13, 2012) – As Nevada faces yet another challenge in national health rankings, the Nevada Health Centers, Inc. takes a stand to improve health access in the Silver state. Nevada Health Centers, Inc. (NVHC), a non-profit organization, has built a 21,000-square-foot health facility dedicated to helping people in our local area receive access to health care. The new building will double the space of , the existing health center and will also house the administration staff. There will be additional space to see more patients. Nevada Health Centers, Inc. provides quality health care to everyone - while accepting most private insurance as well as Medicaid, Medicare and Nevada Check-up. Patients who are uninsured are charged a sliding fee based on our sliding fee program. The new facility, scheduled to open it this spring, will be known as “Sierra Nevada Health Center” and is located at 3325 Research Way, Carson City, NV 89706.
A federal grant will cover most but not all of the costs of the new building. In an effort to generate additional funding, NVHC has launched the “Buy a Brick” campaign. The engraved bricks will pave the path leading to the front entrance of the health center. Each brick offers up to four lines of engraved text for a business name, your name, a name commemorating a family or friends or a favorite quote. By purchasing a brick for a donation of $100, $350 or $500, Nevadans are able to leave a lasting legacy in their community, and visibly demonstrate their support of affordable and accessible health care for Nevadans.
“This new building will become a medical home for thousands of people in the local community, and it’s an easy way for businesses to get involved. We’re hoping to have many bricks engraved from local businesses that support improving health in our community,” said Shirley A. Hampton, RN, Chief Development Officer for NVHC.
NVHC currently operates 18 health centers state-wide. The Sierra Nevada Health Center will be among the largest health facilities run by the non-profit and will offer the full range of family practice medical care.
