What's next for local GOP? Carson City Republican Party chairman provides the details
Nevada’s caucuses are over. So now what? I saw this headline and figured it’s time to let all the Republicans in our city know what is next.
Non –Judicial candidate filing is March 2-13 at the Carson City Clerk’s office on Musser St. There are quite a few offices on the ballot that could use some new and more conservative leadership.
These include Mayor, Supervisor Ward 2, Supervisor Ward 4, School Trustee District 2, School Trustee District 5 and School Trustee District 7. To find out if you are eligible call the Carson City Clerk’s office at (775) 887-2087 and give us a call to see what we can do to assist you in getting elected.
It is essential that Carson City government remain as conservative as possible. If you have ever thought about running for local office now is the time. We are here to help our local Republican politicians.
On March 7 from 9 a.m. to noon our Precinct Meeting will be at the Casino Fandango Ballroom. We will finalize the precinct organization. Elect 313 delegates to the Carson City Convention and submit planks and ideas for our Party Platform.
On April 11 the Carson City Republican Convention is at the Casino Fandango Ballroom from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. At the convention we will elect members to the Carson City Central Committee for 2020-2022. We will also elect 104 delegates to the State Convention scheduled for May 16th and 17th at the Silver Legacy in Reno.
And finally approve the Carson City Republican Party Platform. Adam Laxalt is scheduled to be our guest speaker. During the State convention in Reno the party will select and bind 25 delegates for President Donald J Trump.
These delegates representing Nevada will attend the Republican Convention August 23 to 27 at Charlotte, North Carolina. We will also approve the State Party Platform, elect a new national Committee Man and Committee Woman and approve or disapprove any resolutions brought forward.
As for guest speakers, one has not been announced, but the President spoke at the last one and that wasn’t an election year.
