U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West returns to Carson City
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department, is pleased to announce the return of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West to entertain our citizens.
The free concert will be held on Wednesday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bob Boldrick Community Center. Mayor Bob Crowell, a Navy Captain and veteran, will introduce Major Keith Bland, Commander of the band.
The concert will focus on a variety of styles from traditional wind ensemble repertoire, patriotic music, marches and an outstanding soloist. The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California and is the only remaining active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies and continues to receive critical acclaim.
The officers of the Carson City Elks Club #2177 will serve as ushers and will provide dinner for the 45 members of the band prior to the concert. Boy Scout Troop # 145 will present the colors.
Tickets will be presented on a first-come, first-serve basis with veterans receiving priority status and will only be available for pick up at the Chamber. The community center seats 800.
Please call (775) 882-1565 to reserve tickets.
