Carson City Public Works is currently investigating discolored water in the Stanton Park and Empire Ranch areas in east Carson City. Discoloration is caused by naturally occurring minerals that accumulate in our water system. The water is safe to drink.

CHS vice principal arrested for suspicion of DUI

Carson City School District officials confirmed Tuesday that Carson High School Vice Principal Marc Rodina was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence. According to a statement from the district, the incident occurred Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, in Douglas County.

For safety reasons, all shooting activities, including reservations and public use, are canceled during construction. Carson High grad, son of CHS athletic director dies in snowmobile accident, GoFundMe page established

The Carson High School community is mourning the loss of Jake Roman, a 2017 CHS graduate and son of Athletic Director, teacher and head football coach Blair Roman. Jake died from injuries in a snowmobile accident at Lake Tahoe, according to friends of the family.

South Lake Tahoe ski patroller identified in fatal incident at Heavenly

UPDATE: The man who died Saturday has been identified as 36-year-old Christopher John Nicholson of South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Nicholson was a member of the Heavenly Ski Patrol and had been working that day. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Washoe County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a cause of death, according to a DCSO news release.

Carson City deputies arrest man for selling stolen phone for $70, held on $10,000 bail

A 25-year-old Jackson, Missouri man was arrested in the 3100 block of N. Carson Street for felony grand larceny after allegedly stealing and selling a phone from a local hardware store.

According to the arrest, Kevin Deonte Nolan was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a local hardware store to follow up on an investigation regarding a stolen phone.
