Shakespearian actors will join the Reno Jazz Orchestra to perform the music of Duke Ellington’s “Such Sweet Thunder” concert on November 11 and 12, 2023, at the Good Luck Macbeth theater in Reno. David A. Brennan, DMA, will be the Guest Music Director, and the Reno Jazz Orchestra’s Jazz Workshop students will open the show.

Sierra Arts Foundation to host Holiday Music and Art Festival at Carson City's Silver Saddle Ranch

Sierra Arts Foundation, a nonprofit that advocates for arts and the artists that create it within a 200 mile radius of the Reno, Sparks region, is hosting the first Holiday Music and Art Festival in partnership with the Carson City Parks and Recreation department at Silver Saddle Ranch on Nov. 18.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free to the public. It will feature artists, vendors, musicians and other nonprofit groups in advance of the holiday season.

Carson City Symphony opens 40th season today with 'Life Begins at Forty' concert

The Carson City Symphony, conducted by Music Director David Bugli, will open its 40th season on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023, at 4 p.m., with a concert, “Life begins at Forty,” at the Carson City Community Center's Bob Boldrick Theater.

This will be the Symphony's 220th concert. Featured guest soloist Eric Fassbender will play Mozart's Bassoon Concerto in B-flat Major with the orchestra.
