Godmonster of Indian Flats 50th anniversary celebration happening this weekend in Virginia City
Celebrate the Godmonster of Indian Flats' 50th anniversary with us from Oct. 13-15 at St. Mary's Art Center in Virginia City.
Our friends from AGFA and Something Weird have dubbed Godmonster of Indian Flats as "easily the most berserk, out-of-control, and inexplicably deranged creature feature in the history of forever."
With an iconic scene with a mutant sheep at St. Mary's Art Center and a description like that, how could we not celebrate and show the movie?
Join us for movie showings all weekend long and our Fall Art Reception on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 1-4 p.m.
The reception features artwork from Honey Coughlin, Scott MacLeod, Frederic Hobbs (the writer and director of Godmonster), and the Godmonster Exquisite Corpse Exhibition – a collaboration of work between groups of paired artists each creating half of the piece, without knowing who their partner is or what they are creating.
Honey Coughlin will display an artistic photographic journey of the now-demolished American Flats and a sculpture exhibition called "Communion". Scott MacLeod's Desert series is a whimsical collection featuring flying trucks and UFOs. The cherry on top features Frederic Hobbs' books, along with his fascinating and rarely seen lifesize “Aerobic Warrior” sculpture.
Live music and light refreshments will be provided during the art reception.
Movie Tickets are $10.
