Nevada railroad museum in Carson City celebrates a July 4 weekend of trains
Submitted by editor on Mon, 06/30/2014 - 12:21pmWith all the flavorings of the Old West, the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City will showcase several of its trains for the July 4 weekend.
It's living history on the rails when steam locomotives V&T No. 25 and the famous Inyo will operate along with the historic, self-propelled McKeen motor car Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Rides will be available behind the 25 and on the McKeen car every 45 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kings Beach woman arrested on suspicion of third DUI
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 06/30/2014 - 11:21amA 22-year-old Kings Beach woman was arrested Sunday on a felony charge of third offense DUI after Carson City sheriff's deputies who were at the scene of a traffic accident on Highway 50 said she nearly hit them as she passed.
Gloria Estefan Grajeda was arrested in the 4600 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of felony DUI and four misdemeanor charges.

Little Feat musicians Barrere and Tackett ready to jam at Concert Under the Stars

The event takes place July 9 at Café at Adele’s and the venue has been expanded to allow for greater attendance, said Karen Abowd, Greenhouse Project president.

These dreamers love to make to-do lists in their heads, or visualize a prosperous future. But some of them fall prey to a little something I call broken starter syndrome.
The passion is there. The vision is there. However, when it comes to actually stepping on the gas, they have one foot on the brake. Fear of making the wrong decision, not being able to get it all done, or facing the unknown keeps these dreamers paralyzed and stagnant.

Founded by James Nye and Henry Yerington, St. Peters is often consider the jewel of the Carson City Historic District. The congregation began in 1863 during the Civil War, celebrating its 150th anniversary last year.
