Carson City authorities make felony drug, misdemeanor battery arrests over weekend
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 08/26/2013 - 10:48amA Carson City man faces a felony drug charge and seven misdemeanor charges. Randy Paul Warstler, 29, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. early Sunday, at the intersection of Telegraph and Curry.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to the area of North Carson Street and Winnie Lane for a report of a DUI driver in a vehicle with stolen license plates.
Esmeralda County sheriff's cadet arrested for alleged DUI
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 08/26/2013 - 10:28amA 29-year-old Esmeralda County Sheriff's Office deputy officer in training was arrested early Sunday morning in a county police vehicle and faces misdemeanor charges of DUI alcohol and failure to maintain a lane of traffic.
Jason Alan Byrum of Silver Peak was arrested by Carson City sheriff's patrol officers at 4:40 a.m. in the area of Silver Sage Drive and Vintage Circle. He is a cadet at the POST academy, confirmed Esmeralda County Sheriff Ken Elgan.

Carson Now has asked Mr. Javanovich a second time for authenticity of the letter in which we have not had a reply. If Mr. Javanovich steps forward with legal documents saying who he is, including a Nevada driver's license or state ID card, we will put the letter back online.

Carson City motorcycle officers participate in Milwaukee Harley riding competition

Mike Cullen and Deputy Joseph Trotter will represent Nevada's capital city in Milwaukee, Wis., during the Harley-Davidson Police Riding and Skills competition.
This is a unique event as in addition to competing against more than 110 other police motorcycle officers from throughout the United States, the two will also participate in training classes on escort and riding techniques as well as motorcycle maintenance.
Silver Springs man dies Sunday in two-vehicle crash

Jay R. Williams, 68, died at the scene of the accident, which involved a Dodge Stratus, driven by Williams, and a Dodge pickup, driven by a 53-year-old Silver Springs man, said NHP Trooper David Gibson.
Western Nevada College teams to begin fall scrimmages

Two Carson City men arrested on felony drug charges

Stephen Charles Wilhoite, 47, and Dennis Lloyd Lee, 44, were arrested Aug. 21 in the 2000 block of Oak Ridge Drive. According to the arrest report, officers with the Special Enforcement Team went to a residence to serve a felony warrant.
