Monthly swing dance party
Submitted by Carson Now Reader on Wed, 08/28/2013 - 5:44pmHigh Sierra Swing Dance Club presents its monthly dance party Sept. 28 at the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom, 449 W. King St., Carson City. At 7 p.m., Adam Hopkins will teach an intermediate West Coast swing lesson. Social dance is 8-10:30 p.m. Partners are not required. Lesson $7 for HSSDC and any swing dance club members or $10 for nonmembers; dance $7 for members of swing clubs and $10 for nonmembers. Free beginner lesson starts at 7 p.m. Join the club that night, and the dance is free.
Carson City thanks Home Depot employees

They arrived at 8:00 A.M. both days and their employees donated their own time to doing various park improvements to Korean War Veterans Memorial Park, located at East Fifth Street and Marsh Road.

Carson City regional air quality skirts between 'very unhealthy' and 'hazardous'

Using data provided by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Carson City and Douglas County officials continue to monitor the rapid decline in air quality. On Wednesday Douglas County sent a news release stating that overnight pollution levels moved into the "hazardous" classification.

Zackery Kluever, age not available, faces charges including possession of controlled substance with intent to sell after officers did an inventory of his vehicle and found 30 MMDA pills in a bottle labeled "Molly," a common street name for the drug, also known as "Ecstasy."
