Events include the Nevada Artists Association New Year’s Show, and there’s a historical Curry family presentation at the Nevada State Museum. Famed country rock band I See Hawks in L.A. perform at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse on Saturday. Douglas County Commission votes support for Gardnerville community plan to keep wild horses wild

Events include the KTVN Share Your Christmas Food Drive at the Governor's Mansion in Carson City and at Minden's Carson Valley Inn, Homestead Holidays at the Silver Saddle Ranch and more. The Polar Express Train Rides are sold out for the rest of the year, but Santa Train express rides are steaming up at the Nevada State Railroad Museum over the weekend. Read on for details.
Carson City’s Wild Horse Herd causes traffic issues on College Parkway
Submitted by Kelsey Penrose on Sat, 12/07/2019 - 1:01pmSUNDAY UPDATE: Traffic along College Parkway and Lompa Lane was diverted briefly early Sunday afternoon due to horse herd moving across the roadway. One of the horses was said to be severely injured. Wild horse advocates have been contacted.

Just before noon on Saturday, deputies were alerted one of Carson City’s local wild horse herds were causing a bit of a traffic issue along College Parkway by the Sonic.

Nevada Day Parade to be televised to national audience

The annual celebration of Nevada's induction into Statehood is a time-honored and popular tradition, with upwards of 20,000 people flocking to the Capital region. This year, however, you don't have to be in the Capital city to be a part of the celebration.

“I am thrilled this year to be working with chefs and sponsors Collin Smith and Chris Nealon of Roundabout Catering,” said Chef Charlie Abowd, who first started the dinner 12 years ago as a tribute to his father, restaurateur Paul Abowd, and 11 years ago, decided to turn the event into an event that provides a large part of TGP’s annual operating budget.
